A 15-year-old girl has allegedly died by suicide in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur. The deceased was a student of class 9 and died by hanging himself on a tree. Police have not recovered any suicide note. The incident was reported today, November 7.

The reason behind the extreme step by the student was because he was asked by his father and school staff to focus on his studies and avoid using his mobile phone and TV, reported Times Now. Further investigation is underway. The student’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Parents of the deceased are also being questioned to find out if there was any kind of pressure on the student.

In another recent case, a class 10 student allegedly died by suicide on his school premises in Odisha’s Khurda district after his mobile phone was “seized” by the school authority. The deceased identified as Publias Karji, was a native of Gajapati district. The 16-year-old was found hanging from a tree, a police officer had said. Further investigation is underway.

While a class 11 student from Uttar Pradesh allegedly died by suicide after she was insulted for consuming gutka (tobacco) by her teacher in front of her father. The incident happened in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. The 17-year-old student, identified as Anjali Sahu, allegedly hanged herself hours after her father was called to the school by her teacher, where he was told that his daughter was addicted to gutka.
